A Breakthrough Question on Self- Development: Don’t You Think You Are Smart?
If you were like most people, you may wonder why you under-achieve when you know you are undoubtedly smart (ok, sometimes you doubt that, too). Or you may think others are smart and you are dumb because they get higher grades in school, figure things out much quicker, and are more successful in their careers than you.
Why do you keep on doubting your capacity to learn? I’m sure something happened which resulted to your frame of mind.
Somebody said you are not smart
If you were like me, somebody told you while you are too young that you are not smart. Or you might have heard it just recently. It doesn’t matter when. It comes with the same negative imprint in your mind.
My school teacher encouraged us to save in coin banks when I was six years old. After a few months she had each of us open an account at a local bank. It was my first time to see what a bank looked like and filling out an application for a savings account (I wonder why we had to do it by ourselves) made me nervous.
